We have a naturally profound need to experience the extraordinary. For those drawn to places rich in ways to play, immersed in sublime beauty, and blessed with a soulful reverence for ohana and tradition, Kukui’ula is such a spirited place. The ultimate family retreat. A magical setting like no other to create a home in the Hawaiian Islands.
Making a home on Kaua’i may create a family covenant, fulfill a personal longing, or a lifelong dream. Homesites at Kukui’ula range from one-third acre to three acres, and include some of the last Kaua’i coastline still available for building.

This DMB development was built in partnership with the people of Kaua‘i, the county government and A&B Properties, Inc., who owned the land. It is a seamless fit with the island.
Kukui‘ula was zoned for 2,000 units. Traffic reports indicated that this would forever change the island, so DMB created a low-density community with no more than 1,500 units.
Kukui’ula sits on the sunny Poipu coastline, which resulted in its pedestrian-friendly design. A beguiling system of trails, called the Charm Bracelet, encourages walking with its many lush, fanciful gardens.
DMB was determined to build a community that was deeply luxurious and undeniably Kaua‘i. Accordingly, the architecture is a graceful, modern plantation style. Homes are oriented to protect outdoor areas from the tradewinds but encourage indoor-outdoor living. Renowned architects like Shay Zak, Olson Kundig and Bing Hu have constructed a collection of stunning homes along hillside slopes and ocean overlooks, while the Club Cottages, Bungalows and Villas provide opportunities to experience all Kukui’ula has to offer just steps from the Clubhouse.
