Dear Editor-in-Chief,

As CEO of DMB Development, LLC, the developer for Cotino, I think it is important that I bring to your attention that the SFGATE story about Storyliving by Disney’s new community in Rancho Mirage, California, is inaccurate and falsely connects our project with a lawsuit brought against Rancho Mirage regarding affordable housing. There is no connection between the now-closed Rancho Palms Mobile Home Park and the Cotino site. In fact, the former mobile home park was five miles from the Cotino site, and the neighbors that surround Cotino have welcomed us to the community.

Unfortunately, the reporter didn’t take the time to fully understand the background of the project, nor the requirements for affordable housing in the State of California. It is obvious his main goal was to use the project’s brand name to create false controversy. It’s disappointing readers were denied accurate and truthful reporting and the damaging story should be removed immediately.
